Save the Millionaires

I’m sure to offend some but I am deeply irritated at the media attention and hurt feelings over these attacks on NFL or NBA millionaires being attacked for their freedom of speech to take a knee.

Police have been arresting people of color for crimes they didn’t commit as long as there has been a country. Police and others, have been killing people of color under false pretenses just as long.
The institutionalized racism of our system is not new.
Despite that it has rarely got this level of attention and make no mistake this is NOT one of these rare times.

The irritation is with the simple fact that few, including the press, gave a crap when common people or groups were having their rights to protest these issues oppressed or questioned or state legislatures were debating to legalize running down protesters with cars.
Tell a millionaire sports star he can’t take a knee and all of a sudden the focus is on them and that and NOT WHAT THE FUCK THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE PROTESTING AGAINST.

News media. Social media. Water cooler conversations. They are all about taking a knee but a week ago no one gave a shit and most disappointingly of all, didn’t give even less of a shit about what the protest was actually about.

Please keep ranting about the rights some millionaire doesn’t have while millions of middle and lower income people in the Caribbean, including millions of Americans, die in hospitals with no power while others slowly die around them as clean water and food run out.

Let’s all spend days ranting about the lost rights and privilege of millionaires to voice their opinion while this is all going on and forgot that this same opportunity to share your opinion or get your message of social injustice to the news media does not exist and no one is creating a Twitter hashtag for it. #savethemillionairesrightsnotmine
