‘Politically motivated ingrates’:Trump continues attack on Puerto Rican leaders dealing with hurricane disaster

President Donald Trump continued his assault on Puerto Rican leaders asking for help for their hurricane-battered island, calling them “politically motivated ingrates” on Twitter Sunday morning.

One day after engaging San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz in a protracted battle on Twitter and in the media, Trump doubled down first thing from his New Jersey country club..

“We have done a great job with the almost impossible situation in Puerto Rico. Outside of the Fake News or politically motivated ingrates,” he tweeted, before adding, “people are now starting to recognize the amazing work that has been done by FEMA and our great Military.”

“All buildings now inspected for safety. Thank you to the Governor of P.R. and to all of those who are working so closely with our First Responders. Fantastic job!” he continued.

Yesterday, Mayor Cruz, dismissed the president — who is spending the weekend golfing — saying she had better things to do than deal with Trump’s “petty” insults.
