I don't use twitter. Do not have a "smartphone" so do not have "apps."
But I think, from images of other twitting, that one uses a cell phone to send and read, right?
So how does twitter put "Russian made" ads on it? Right there on the screen?

(590 posts)On the phone and on twitter.com in a browser, ads show up directly in the timeline as tweets. They are marked as "promoted". Ads will also sometimes show up as promoted links in the "trending" section.
They don't show up on tweetdeck.twitter.com, which is also run by Twitter. Tweetdeck has more features where you can simultaneously monitor multiple feeds with multiple accounts.
