American media failed us and continues to fail us, simply because of profit.

in her campaign and now. The Mothers of the Movement supported her for a reason. She was the only major candidate in 2016 who stood up to the gun lobby, rather that catering to them and promoting the NRA view of guns. Charges of corporatism excluded the merchants of death--both guns and defense, with those denouncing banking making excuses for civil immunity that guaranteed profits for the corporate gun industry over the lives and rights of American citizens. Such discourse displayed a commitment to status quo that values property and profit over human life and white property owners over the lives of urban communities who are victims of the genocide that is US gun policy. White privilege, property and profit over black and brown lives is the central value of American capitalism.
