if they are pre menopause, that in the case of back alley abortions to stock up on antibiotics now.
(this is mean to be patronizing the way the GOP is to make a point, if that wasnt obvious I apologize, like I said below, I tried to be rational last year warning people, that didnt work, you kept telling me both candidates were the same, some of you anyway)
this was stupidly worded on my part, I would delete it but too late. Apology to all women for this dumb attempt at hyperbole.

(31,109 posts)I tried that last year, appealing rationally to people, but they said both candidates were the same and stayed home or voted for Stein.
Nope, now it is time to be outrageous and loud otherwise women will start dying in those back alleys.
I am attempting to use THEIR behavour (GOP) of how to treat women to make the point.
WhiskeyGrinder
(22,336 posts)Not only is it not working, you're also pissing off people you claim to be trying to help. Not doubling down might work.
cwydro
(51,308 posts)So please explain who you were trying to "rationally appeal" to.
No one on this board said both candidates were the same.

I'll take allies wherever I can find them, and I sure as hell am not going to argue people shouldn't support equal rights because I don't happen to like them. And it fucking pisses me off that you object more to this than the dozens of threads we've seen arguing that the Democratic Party needs to abandon abortion rights.
If you want to make yourself a second class citizen, that's your problem, but don't take the rest of us down with you.
Missing point.

I do this all the time with everything, seems last year people thought both candidates were the same, so evidently we need much louder stuff, much more obnoxious

(67,782 posts)This OP is trying to push something I'm not buying.
He keeps saying that people here called both candidates the same. NOPE. Didn't happen.
OP joined AFTER the election. Something a wee bit odd here.

No women need any man to "prepare" us for any damn thing.
Eliot Rosewater
(31,109 posts)But overall it is meant to get attention since nothing worked last year.
Pretty much every word I type on this board is meant to remind people what happened when people claimed both candidates were the same etc

(31,109 posts)Oh hell no.
I would never divide liberals or democrats. Never.
If that is what you are meaning, especially after everything else I have said on this board, then it is bullshit and everyone can see that.
Everything I say here, absolutely everything, is focused on how what we are now experiencing was avoidable but certain folks just didnt want to hear it.

These sudden "after the election" new accounts are something I find a bit strange. Especially this OP who claims he saw people calling the two candidates the same. He still has yet to show me someone who said that.
Bye now Georgie.

BTW, this is not refighting the primary, it's about backing up the fact that there were those on here who thought they were the same.

(83,754 posts)I have not been here as long as you...yet 5 years is still a long time for an active poster.
Hmmmm. Not sure why you are making this an issue. EarlG got me on moments after I emailed him. They made it clear that their would be issues. I guess I haven't been here long enough to avoid doubt. That hurts.

(51,308 posts)Any long time person would do just as you did, and email an admin.
I did too.
I'm annoyed at this poster saying that there were people on this board calling both candidates "the same".
I asked him for a link. He disappeared. That's the only issue I have.

(83,754 posts)Think they meant both parties were said to be the same. SS said as much. She said don was better than Hill as well.
You know... have to say that don is killing our citizens in Puerto Rico.
Read this and cry,

I do not have time for this stuff. People are dying and the body count will be huge. Time to focus on what is truly important and that is peoples lives. Ten, Ten!!@! Morgue containers arrived in Puerto Rico. They house 300 bodies per container. Focus.

(19,564 posts)I was on MIRT at the time of the hack, and it was a thing we had to deal with at the time. Many people changed their names and came back under a new one because they couldn't access their old account due to having lost access to the email they used when they originally signed up. We just sent them up to the admin to verify when we ran across them if we couldn't get a reply as to who they were previously. If the admin let them stay, we assumed it was a legit name change and we moved on.
In the end it's a forum moderation issue and not for us to delve into.

(2,768 posts)Between this, their attacks on family planning centers and general health care. The red states and/or rural areas better get ready for a boom in maternal mortality rates.
But hey, on the plus side there will be new jobs created in the mortuary field. Boosted in particular by newly minted demand for fetus burial and cremation.

(34,108 posts)we can handle that ourselves. Why is it always assumed we can't find our own asses without help, presumably male help?
Eliot Rosewater
(31,109 posts)I sincerely apologize to the women of the board for what was a dumb attempt at my usual obnoxiousness about last year.
Ninsianna
(1,349 posts)I'm pretty sure you missed the sarcasm in the OP, but it won't matter how we can "handle ourselves" if our doctors can be jailed for 5 years for merely taking care of us when we face a dire situation around the time we do amniocentesis and get ultrasounds letting us know the status and health of our pregnancies.
GOP doesn't really care about helping us, they just want to appease the misogynistic idiots who vote for them and think a 20 week ban is a great idea, no matter how often sane, intelligent people tell them otherwise.

(34,108 posts)I was not talking about the bill but then you knew that.
Please stop answering me with your attempts to always point me out as not too bright or missing the point. I know you are not the person who keeps telling all of us all how smart it is you just hang with it but really, I know about the bill. I was talking to the OP about something different.

Ninsianna
(1,349 posts)them who voted for Trump just on abortion. Do not underestimate the GOP and their desperation.
This is a terrible bill and was one every other time Franks introduced it and passed it, they only need to to get it through the Senate somehow and Trump will sign it and the Supreme Court will uphold it.
This attacks women at the most vulnerable time, AND their doctors. Remember that the reason doctors were terrified to give that lady they killed in Ireland a much needed D&C is that the have laws on the books that criminalizes any doctor performing an abortion, as this one does. There it was a life sentence, and here it's 5 years, but that's kinda one of those things that's going to affect people, either by frightening away doctors and hospitals or by picking off the doctors who are willing to uphold their professional and ethical duties.
