We're going to be in need of thousands of Anthem Enforcers at all major sporting events.

If you actually did what this person suggested and made the fans to give up their "before the kick-off" special prices on beer and brats, and actually spent 10 minutes before the game, forcing them out of the concourse, the tailgate clean-up, and bathrooms to get to their seats and stand at attention, hats doffed and hands over hearts, for two or more minutes while someone tries to hit the high notes, you'll soon have a revolt.

Have a country where people feel happy and secure.

They'll be jumping out of their seats to stand up and grinning from ear to ear with pride.

The author's point seems to be that if they want to regulate people's behavior during the national anthem, they should regulate all of it, including the fans' behavior. I thought it was pretty funny, especially the part about singing it off-key, which almost everybody does.

The only acceptable way to observe the anthem is to hold your beer over your head and whoop through the last two lines.

Non-alcoholic beers will be prosecuted

Suggesting that the Anthem be sung in the style of the tavern song written by John Stafford Smith is clearly a joke. Its the pseudo-serious style that marks great biting satire. Mr. Endress is an artist.
