Things An American Neo-Fascist Despot Would Do

(and whether >>Redacted<< has done them)

From a discussion thread on Daily Kos, I can't take personal credit for this brilliant compilation:

- Call for media outlets that publish stories critical of the government to be shut down: YES
- Spread domestic disinformation daily: YES
- Provoke daily domestic and international crises to remain in the public view: YES
- Announce a plan for massive military parades in American cities: YES
- Craft alliances with despotic strongmen around the globe: YES
- Call for the Chief Executive to be able to destroy government records with impunity: YES
- Threaten unilateral military aggression against geopolitical adversaries: YES
- Intentionally undermine longstanding international alliances: YES
- Aggressively attack domestic "enemies," whether politicians, soldiers, or civilians: YES
- Adopt nationalistic rhetoric about "patriotism" and "loyalty" in all public speeches: YES
- Hamper conventional operation of critical government offices via understaffing: YES
- Encourage violence at domestic rallies: YES
- Promote policies that exacerbate polarization while stoking cultural resentment: YES
- Withdraw from or violate international treaties and agreements at will: YES
- Negotiate secretly with oppressive regimes to help consolidate power at home: YES
- Call for a treaty-busting increase in military spending: YES
- Turn a blind eye to violent nationalist extremism on the home front: YES
- Call for a massive crackdown on non-white immigration
- Assert authority to intercede in private business operations to engineer their conduct: YES
- Fire any staff who regularly voice disagreement, whether publicly or privately: YES
- Hire family members to conduct critical governmental operations: YES
- Assert the right to pardon family members and criminal co-conspirators: YES
- Fundamentally alter regulatory and administrative regimes via non-public orders: YES
- Undermine confidence in the electoral process and media/government institutions: YES

Chilling.

worriedly,
Bright

think I know who he is. I prefer not to mention his name because I live in shame and embarassment that he is the president.

Besides which, there's nothing that stokes a pathological narcissist as much as attention.

Why contribute to the sum total of "discussions about ME!!!" on the Intertoobz?

philosophically,
Bright
