Stunning chart reveals how badly Trump has bungled Puerto Ricos grid rebuild

?w=1024&ssl=1

Three weeks after hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, FEMA reported Wednesday that only a little more than 10 percent of the island’s 3.5 million U.S. citizens have power. That is down from 16 percent on Tuesday and back to levels from a week ago (see chart below).

The Trump administration is bungling the rebuilding of Puerto Rico’s grid –and trying to do it the dirty, old, expensive and vulnerable way (as we predicted). It’s time to take Tesla CEO Elon Musk up on his offer to rebuild the island’s grid the clean, modern, cheap and resilient way — with clean energy.

This remarkable chart from Reuters on “power restoration after major U.S. hurricanes” shows just how abysmal Trump’s rebuild is going.

I sure hope Elon Musk is going to assist them instead. I would not trust 45 to build a single column out of Legos.

He may have promised to pay other people to build something for him, but he can't even use children's building blocks to actually "build" something

Foreclosures, property for sale pennies on the dollar, corporate investment, and a new playground for the rich and powerful. Tax incentives for investing. No investment in recovery. Gentrification instead.

Didn't that happen in the desireable areas of New Orleans like the French Quarter?

13. % power restored is the wrong thing to compare

Number of customers with power restored would be useful, along with number who had lost power.
Also useful would be the number of power poles replaced and miles of power lines replaced/restored.
This chart is not really useful.
