scares the hell out of me! He is falling to Trump's whim! Either he is scared of Trump or is a war hawk too! Can we get at least one person who will stand up to the buffoon we have as president! And there was hope for C of S Kelly, not now!

(16,079 posts)Kelly, Mattis, and McMaster are in Trump's pocket and will be next to him if and when he orders a military strike on North Korea...because they'll be in an undisclosed location underground!!!

(6,089 posts)will all be underground at the Greenbriar in Dump's favorite state of WVA
They will have all the comforts of home and won't be a bit bothered by the rest of the country burning to a crisp
How much more dispicable can they be

(14,531 posts)Not the comforts of home, but it will seem like it when trump hits the fan. If trump thinks the White house is like a prison and a dump now, he will hate Gbriar. But not as much as people will hate being locked down with him. Only them will the republicans impeach him.

(5,914 posts)And that his slimy shitheel behavior was all just an act to get right wingers to vote for him. Of course, I never believed it that for a millisecond, but that microscopic hope was the only thing keeping me from taking a bath with a toaster the day after the Election.
Well, it turns out he really was a slimy shitheel, and he's even worse than we thought.

(2,959 posts)generals who are going along with this corrupt gang. I have felt this way from the beginning and nothing I've read or heard has made me think about changing my mind.

(16,079 posts)Don't have much confidence in Mattis, either! To be honest, I don't put much stock in the Joint Chiefs...and the military will launch a nuke with no questions asked!
Let's face it, this administration cannot be trusted to do the right thing...and the blame can be put into the laps of voters who hated Oabama and Clinton, more then they loved this country!

(5,810 posts)After listening to that tRump Love In, I told my husband we are screwed for sure. (He has held that opinion for months.). I thought Kelly was the only thing holding us back from pure anarchy. Or Anihilation by one of our growing list of enemies. After hearing Kelly blather on, it dawned on me what his sole purpose was today.
They trotted Kelly out today after yesterdays disastrous news day. He was supposed to calm all of us, including the news media, that all the rumors coming out about how unhinged tRump is are overblown. After all the crazy comments by tRump, the tweets of the past week, they needed someone credible to come soothe us.
Well, I am here to tell you, it did nothing of the sort for me. If anything, I am more worried than ever. The guy I thought might be standing between us and disaster is not doing that at all. He, in fact, tried to make tRump look NORMAL. OMG, we are well and truly f**ked.

(544 posts)I mean, firstly there's the secret service. At best, physically accosting Trump would result in a serious ass beating and free vacation at Guantanamo... although you'd more than likely just get shot by SS for tackling Trump. So there's that.
Then there's the fact that, regardless of your political feelings or justifications, you are physically impeding the Commander in Chief from performing a military action against an enemy of the US. That would be the LITERAL definition of aiding and abetting someone the United States is making war with (ie: aiding and abetting the enemy an enemy). So, assuming the SS doesn't shoot you onsite for assaulting the President, you get to be hung for treason after your short stay at Guantanamo bay.
All the while, Secret Service helps Trump back to his feet and he executes the launch orders anyway only minutes later...
Again, why are people pinning their hopes and dreams on Kelley (or anyone else) being there to physically stop Trump?

(4,407 posts)We can't rely on Kelly/Mattis/McMaster for anything:
First, they are politically aligned with Trump or they would not be there -- they want to take away healthcare and entitlements, force the right wing christian agenda down our throats and end civil rights. That is the job they signed up for.
Second, we need to stop this American general worshiping. Mostly they are ego-maniacal, glorified bureaucrats who have served in a lot of wars we should have never been in.
Third, I have yet to see one word from McMaster, Mattis or Kelly that assures me that they would do the right thing in a crucial situation. I hear all these presumptions and speculations but nothing more.
