It's hard to tell where that riddle originally came from, but if a kid said it then there's a fair chance he's well past elementary school by now.

repeating something funny they heard. My point (besides repeating something funny I heard) was to show that Trumpy is so ridiculed, that a young kid is comfortable mocking him around mostly unknown adults. The real knee-slapper is everyone realizes Trumpy is a joke.


* PS, about 10 years ago, a Roman joke book was discovered. In it was a variation of Monty Python's Dead Parrot joke. The Roman version involved someone buying a slave that turned out to be dead. The seller claimed he was just resting, that he had never died before, that he was pining for the Mediterranean, etc.
