Rachel Maddow slaps the shit out of Limbaugh, leaves mark

Debunktion Junction online special: Everybody panic! I think the conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh is not telling the truth about something.

By Rachel Maddow

Dear Mr. Limbaugh:

Here's what you said yesterday, for which we made fun of you last night on MSNBC:

Have you heard this new movie, the Batman movie, what is it, The Dark Knight Lights Up or whatever the name is? That's right, Dark Knight Rises. Lights Up, same thing. Do you know the name of the villain in this movie? Bane. The villain in The Dark Knight Rises is named Bane, B-a-n-e. What is the name of the venture capital firm that Romney ran and around which there's now this make-believe controversy? Bain. The movie has been in the works for a long time. The release date's been known, summer 2012, for a long time. Do you think that it is accidental that the name of the really vicious, fire-breathing, four-eyed whatever-it-is villain in this movie is named Bane?

Here's how you responded today to criticism of your remarks :

Everybody's out there running around saying I got this giant conspiracy theory that the Batman people, the creators, the comic book creators, created this thing to campaign against Romney. I never said that. I didn't say there was a conspiracy. I said the Democrats were going to use it. . . .

Mr. Limbaugh, actually, you did say it was a conspiracy. You did so when you asked your rhetorical question ("Do you think that is is accidental?&quot about whether it could conceivably be an accident that this new Batman movie has a villain in it with a name that sounds like Mitt Romney's former firm.

Was that not a rhetorical question? When you asked "Do you think it's accidental?" did you actually mean to imply that you do think it really was an accident, it really was a coincidence?

I think we were factually accurate when we made fun of you for trafficking in one of the stupidest right-wing conspiracy theories of all time. You are contesting our characterization of your remarks, but we didn't mischaracterize what you said. And now I think you're just lying about what you said in order to avoid the embarrassment of having been so wrong.

bane
[beyn]   Example Sentences Origin
bane
   [beyn]
noun
1.
a person or thing that ruins or spoils: Gambling was the bane of his existence.
2.
a deadly poison (often used in combination, as in the names of poisonous plants): wolfsbane; henbane.
3.
death; destruction; ruin.
4.
Obsolete. that which causes death or destroys life: entrapped and drowned beneath the watery bane.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/bane

The word "bane" has always meant something horrible, awful, to be avoided at all costs. The "bane" of his life. Heard that expression since I was a small child. What's with Limbaugh? Is his education so limited?

And Romney? Why was the company named "Bain" sounding like "bane"?

You can't name a company "bane" and expect people to think it is something good.

And you know what's funny about that? Romney used that name as cover because it's so highly respected in his world. As a matter of fact what he was doing with it is ALSO highly respected in his world.

An oldie but a goodiie to illustrate:

Imagine there's this club that gets together and it's members smear shit in their hair. Amongst themselves they complement each other on a wide rage of details involving different combings, the amount of water to add,...etc. Within their group they are accepted and achieve status and rank. (in more ways than one)

Outside of their group people are appalled because,....well,...they have shit in their hair....

So,...just think of Romney as a shithead....

To them, the fact that they have accumulated lots of dollars in their trading accounts means that they are smarter and more valuable than other people.

In fact, they are simply more destructive and less creative than other people. They don't realize that they are tearing down our economy, not building anything.

Even Staples and similar stores mostly seem to import a lot of the stuff they sell. And many of the items they import and sell used to be made in the USA.

Of course, we should participate in trade and import things from other countries -- but we should not import things from other countries when so many Americans can't find work. And we are fooling ourselves if we think we can survive for long as the producers of primarily and pretty much only equipment that is used in other countries to produce our consumer goods.

We are living in a fools' paradise. We get cheap imports and are losing our capacity to be independent or self-reliant. These trade deals are really bad for America.

Yes, Rush. Sometimes things that aren't connected to each other seem to be, but aren't.

In fact, the Dark Knight Rises may take a right-wing view (to my concern). I think Bane creates an Occupy Wall Street like movement to spread chaos in Gotham and force Batman to come out of hiding. That's what I gather, though, it may be wrong.

So the fact that the character is almost 20 years old (and that one of his creators, Chuck Dixon, is a conservative, IIRC) is all but irrelevant.

This clever planning, for an election 19 years in the future, clearly implicates the same mastermind who faked Obama's birth certificate and planted fake newspaper announcements of his birth in 1961 in order to secure his election 47 years later. The amazing thing is that Republicans think they can thwart the evil genius who can make such successful plans decades in advance.

Jul 2012

Maybe someday people will start to understand the MSMedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propaganda

---Propaganda is a form of communication that is aimed at influencing the attitude of a community toward some cause or position. Propaganda is usually repeated and dispersed over a wide variety of media in order to create the chosen result in audience attitudes.

As opposed to impartially providing information, propaganda, in its most basic sense, presents information primarily to influence an audience. Propaganda often presents facts selectively (thus possibly lying by omission) to encourage a particular synthesis, or uses loaded messages to produce an emotional rather than rational response to the information presented. The desired result is a change of the attitude toward the subject in the target audience to further a political agenda. Propaganda can be used as a form of political warfare.---
