The media still tries to push a false equivalence between Trump and folks who have supported Democrats who turned out to engage in harassment or have said racist things in private. However, there is a big difference in that Trump is taking the racism and sexism mainstream and trying to normalize it. The reason why Weinstein has lost his company and Trump is President is that the right ultimately is more than willing to celebrate racism and sexism as a rejection of elitism. That is right, racism, sexism and the rejection of science threaten to become the new normal.
