Hillary Clinton breaks toe falling down stairs, misses BBC interview

Hillary Clinton was delayed arriving for the filming of the BBC's Graham Norton Show due to a broken toe. The former US presidential candidate arrived for the recording of Norton's BBC One show wearing a surgical boot.

Mrs Clinton said: "I was running down the stairs in heels with a cup of coffee in hand, I was talking over my shoulder and my heel caught and I fell backwards. I tried to get up and it really hurt. I've broken my toe. I've received excellent care from your excellent health service."

Mrs Clinton is said to be "very apologetic" after missing her slot on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour due to delays. The former presidential candidate was due to speak about why she lost the 2016 US presidential election to Republican Donald Trump.
(snip)

Meanwhile, her husband Bill was forced to postpone a planned intervention in Northern Ireland's political stalemate because of storm Ophelia. The Press Association understands the former US president had been due in the region on Monday to meet warring political parties as they continue to struggle to reach a deal to restore the collapsed Executive. But the visit was called off at late notice due to the severe weather warnings. It is understood the visit may still take place on Tuesday.

Wherever she goes, she will not spend hours in some emergency waiting room.

I'd agree the British system is superior to ours, but her experience may be atypical.

It's not a question of rights. It's a question of diverting time and energy from where they need to go.

Get well soon, Hill !!!

cycles from Gore in 2000 right on up to 2010 and on through 2016.

We have had more than enough false analysis, poor analysis, and bizarre commentaries.

It was Hillary Clinton who publicly sounded the alarm on Russia and Trump and it is Hillary Clinton who has sounded the alarm about the "clear and present danger" of Donald Trump in the Oval Office and that Vladimir Putin has not given up in his quest to turn the US away from democracy.

We are and we have been focused. It is nice to see that some who refused to see or downgraded the Russian hand last November are now belatedly getting on board.

Clinton has made it plain that she is not going to slink away from the public square and cede that space to those who are alll too eager to push the rest of us, and Clinton, out of it.

Big news there, no doubt. I'm sure they understood Bill's arrival problem.

It's probably a good thing Hill fell backwards. A cup of coffee in hand on top of it all, including her, sounds like life happening all right.

Was not disappointed: doubt about the falling backwards, if Hillary can run: "I wonder what the real story is. ... I don't trust anything she says." Etc.
