(4,238 posts)People are free to identify with whichever political party they want. With all the shit this fucking piece of shit in the WH is throwing our way, why the fuck is the DNC still obsessed with Sanders? Fuck! We have a shitload of seats to defend next year, we've been losing local and state elections nation-wide, everything Obama accomplished is being burned down, and these fuckers are still chasing Bernie!

(68,576 posts)He shouldn't If he won't join the party than fine, run as an independent. I doubt it matters about Angus King.

(3,577 posts)Democrats have appreciated and seriously needed the votes of Bernie Sanders (I-Vt) in the House and Senate for many years, but now should "support and elect" only nominal Democrats? How about the infamous Sheriff David Clarke, who ran as a Democrat several times and won on that lie? I think it depends on what is in the candidate's heart, not the letter after their name.

(2,897 posts)The other guy not so much. If he plans on running in 2020 w/ a D behind his name, now is the perfect time for him to make that conversion.
If they don't, I see no reason why Democratic upstarts in either state should be hampered by the establishment working for an independent. If someone other than a psycho were to win the Democratic primaries in each state, I'd expect them to have the full backing of the DNC/DSCC be that individual Sanders, King, or someone else looking to run.

(7,638 posts)and asks them to run as democrats. Someone just wasted good paper writing that up.
When you utterly despise something, I don't see you then becoming a part of what you despise more than anything in the world.
But perhaps one of them will. The other one hasn't said how much contempt and hate they have for the party so maybe. I doubt it though. Hate makes hay.
