— Army Spc. Etienne J. Murphy, 22, of Snellville in metropolitan Atlanta, died May 26 after an armored vehicle he was in rolled over in Syria. No letter or phone call came from Trump to the parents or his widow.

“Because it was non-combat, I feel like maybe he thought it was an accident, it doesn’t matter,” said Sheila Murphy, his mother. “But my son was in Syria.”

She said the Army casualty assistance officer assigned to her family told her a letter would be coming from the White House. Nearly five months later, she said, no letter has arrived. She said she finally wrote a letter to Trump about six weeks ago, to tell him she and her husband still suffer from deep grief, but there’s been no reply.

ignorant, and unfit to be President. Those are the overpowering reasons he was so callous to the grieving family.

the orange pussy-grabbing asshole probably thought she was "poor", therefore not worthy. He just doesn't give a shit about anyone unless they're rich or he can get money from them.

He does not care. He could have asked for some background information. He might have even gotten background information and even a partial script of something heartfelt, sympathetic, and appropriate to say. He did not want to make the call. He was shamed into calling and just tried to ad lib something, but as he totally lacks any compassion or sense of decency, that was the best he could come up with.
After the call, he probably thought he did great. Gave himself an A+, his sycophants agreed, and then he began planning his next golf weekend.

I think he treated her callously because he is resentful of being called out for his lack of decorum. He has been made to look bad

FIRST AND FOREMOST IT IS ALWAYS ABOUT HIM

And HE thinks because she is black and HE is president HE could say whatever HE wanted, nobody would believe the word of a black woman over HIM.

There is a greater possibility he spoke to her in such a cruel way because she is a woman as well

Look at the cruel bullying he has engaged in with his largely white, male employees.

He is incapable of feeling empathy, or recognizing what anyone else is feeling, or of recognizing the impact of his words on anyone else.
