Why do we care a Canadian sold US Uranium mines to Russians?

Uranium in the US may not be exported unless the US government approves the sale. Our military has enough fully enriched Uranium to blow up the world a hundred times and has no need for more. Are we worried Russia will sell uranium to Iran? They already can sell uranium to Iran. They have 500,000 tons of uranium ore in Russia and could just send some to Iran if they wanted to. The US only has about 65,000 tons so the 15,000 tons in this sale is a trivial amount. Are we worried US hospitals or construction firms will need some for legitimate use but Russia won’t sell? Well Canada has 500,000 tons and exports 85% of its annual production. A US hospital or construction firm can always buy from them.

Russia buying US Uranium mines has no more significance than Russia buying a New York pretzel factory.

This is the dumbest scandal ever.
