Everyone who associates with Trump ends up getting dirty if they aren't already.
Ever since John Kelly became Trump's Chief of Staff, we've been hearing from so many people who know the guy that he's honorable, decent, a straight shooter, all those good things. He was going to bring discipline and order to Trump's goat rodeo of a White House. Put out the dumpster fire. Keep Trump from being so overtly horrible.
Unfortunately, it appears that one or the other of these bad things is true:
1. Kelly was always ready and willing to lie for Trump, contrary to all reports about how "honorable" he is; or
2. Kelly used to behave honorably, but working for Trump is so inherently corrupting that he is now willing to lie for Trump because somehow he became convinced that Trump's presidency is worth selling his soul for.
Trump's White House is such a cesspool that you can't work there without soaking up a permanent stench.
