K-LOVE?

More like K-HATE.

I had to take a trip to the ophthalmologist today. The route is up and down hill. My FM station kept cutting out, and something called K-LOVE kept cutting in. I know it is a Christian radio station, but I have never listened to it before.

It was awful. They griped about the "illegal alien," meaning the young undocumented girl who is seeking an abortion. They yelled about the ACLU, the homosexual agenda and slung a lot of BS about how the Constitution and the founding fathers were influenced by Christian doctrine and Christianity. I was stunned by their nastiness.

I know there are still Christians who try to be nice to each other and help others. But this radio station surely did not illustrate anything good about Christianity.

Seem to have set up shop just about everywhere. They even have TWO stations in Appleton, WI. Then they have two other stations only 20 miles away. Good gosh!

I have a friend who's recently "born again," and she simply doesn't shut up about K-LOVE and how wonderful it is.

Did you know/notice that they don't run ads? That they're funded by "member contributions?" I can't help wondering if they're tax-free, like other hucksters in that racket.

And the music is lousy, as is--forgive me for saying so--ALL "praise music." Unbelievably sappy garbage, and people suck that shit up like it's heroin.

Ironically they are 104.1 and 104.3.

I voiced my apprehension when I commented on a news story on Facebook when 104.1 was set to change to christian programming this Summer. Some woman replied saying something like "You need to give this a chance. I welcome this change to family programming. They have Focus on the Family." I replied saying "Thank you for making my point for me. I will never listen to this station."

We have somewhere in the neighborhood of 11-12 christian broadcasting stations. Some might have more noble aspirations but others are part of a network to dominate the airwaves one station at a time. Enter K-Love.

I've posted about this a few times on this but there doesn't seem to be the concern that I have.

I was listening to perfectly nice classical music. That is what I enjoy when I am driving. This Christian station was ubiquitous. I tried to get rid of it and it kept coming back. I prefer to have a choice. And I know that all Christians are not as hateful as the talk I heard from this station.

In a large area I could get only one Top 40 station and no public radio, but upwards of a dozen Christian stations loud and clear. I don't know if they were all the same underlying station, but they afforded the listener a diverse range of intolerant far-Right propaganda laced with God-is-great slogans.
