Eight 30 ft sample sections of Trump's wall, costing $500,000 each, have been built for consideration. So let's do the math.

The US-Mexico border is 1954 miles. 5280 ft in a mile. Divided by 30 ft would be 343,904 sections. If $500,000 per 30 ft section, wall would cost $171,952,000,000. Ooops I forgot, Mexico will pay for the wall. Right?

So just to bring this a little closer to home. The US population is 323.1 million. So the wall would cost every man, woman, and child $532.19. But actually, it will cost you and me much more, because children and retired seniors don't work.

But Republican lobbyists are already rubbing their grubby little hands together with glee at the possibility getting contracts.

2. It's not about building a wall to keep people out

It's more about giving lucrative contracts to Republican corporate contributors, like Brown & Root, Granite Construction, GE, and Sterling Construction. And we haven't even begun to address the impact to wildlife. Not that the environment much matters to Republicans.
