Lawmakers seek probe of power contract to Zinke neighbor

Members of Congress from both parties on Tuesday called for an investigation into a $300 million contract awarded to a small company based in Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke's hometown of Whitefish, Montana.

Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash. said she has asked the Government Accountability Office to investigate the contract award to Whitefish Energy, which she called a "brand-new company with two employees."

1. Donald Trump, Jr. picks hunting buddy Zinke to run Dept. of Interior.
2. Zinke connected to Andy Techmanski, CEO of Whitefish Energy, who had employed his son.
3. Whitefish Energy was primarily financed by Joe Colonnetta, a major Trump donor.
4. Whitefish Energy had contacted Puerto Rico about rebuilding electric grid just days before Hurricane Maria wiped out the existing electrical infrastructure, even setting up satellite communications, expecting the worst from the impending storm.
5. Puerto Rico governor inexplicably Trump-friendly.
6. The usual “mutual aid” system for fixing electrical grids after storms is not followed.

What's that I hear about draining the swamp?
