I know its not politics but a great man has passed and New Orleans is in mourning. The home going and second line are going to be something to see. Rest in Music, Fat Man. You did us proud.

(41,960 posts)When someone says something about mourning a death it is unconscionably rude to ask something like that.

(62,411 posts)heard an interview where he was asked about rock 'n' roll and he said "I've been playing that since I was 15" or something like that.
He was unique and wonderful.

(54,369 posts)Unless I was playing bass, I wouldn't have gotten a note in edgewise, nor would I have tried! How does a guitarist enhance a rock boogie with keyboards being played Fats Domino, Ray Charles and Jerry Lee Lewis? Answer: by joining the audience!

(17,108 posts)Oh man, I just found out about this.
I remember after Katrina, when The Fat Man was unaccounted for, for a few days. I anxiously kept track of news reports, hoping that he was OK. When the news came out, I contacted people to let 'em know.
I sure am sorry to see this. Go, Fat Man, Go!
