I talked to a female worker while we were talking, a lady came up and asked if they had any Trump mask left. The worker told her no and said that they only had sold very few, so they stopped ordering them. All three of us stood there and talked for a bit. The lady said she was a teacher and was buying the mask for her school room decorations. She was going to make a scarecrow and put Trump mask on it! She asked what other masked did they have left? The worker told her that they still had a few Sean Spicer mask left and ask if that would work? The teacher said yeah, they both can scare the hell of anyone! We all laughed!

(51,590 posts)which was in a blue city and state I would have been "written up". We couldn't have parties for a birthday (due to Jehovah's Witnesses) and we had to stop having "Halloween" due to parents' complaints. Once my principal came to me and told me that a parent complained that I was teaching about "cult religions". I was shocked and said, "What?!". It turned out that a mother who was a born again Christian noticed that in the State Teacher Curriculum and mandated textbook for 6th grade "Ancient Cultures" lessons there were three paragraphs about Yin and Yang. I was not held at fault but had to post-it the "religiosity pages" and not test that particular student on that specific info. Funny thing...the year before that I taught her sister the exact same curriculum with the same mother and there was no problem. Good thing that teacher isn't working in my former district. She would have to justify it.

It got to the point where everyone felt like they were walking on egg shells.
Finally, things broke and they reinstated parties with snacks, Halloween, allowed the top religions to be represented at common winter holiday celebrations, etc.
When a few parents tried to complain, because they felt the need to control things for their own myopic world view...
They were pretty much told to fuck off!

But I saw some random woman in her underpants today.

Most everyone hates Walmart, but I like their prices, and no one is going to tell
me where to do to get what I need.
I don't like their meat or vegetables, but I would buy anything else there.

I'm wondering if you ever hear other drivers talking about trump?
I'm a trucker's wife (he does food distribution) and I used to read trucker's forums for fun but I basically stopped since many of their uninformed views made my blood pressure go too high

(146,288 posts)to question this poster? It's an interesting story, and some DUers shop at Walmart to manage things within their budget. Questioning where people shop seems a little off-base in this thread, it seems to me.
I hope you'll reconsider making such judgmental posts in the future.

(146,288 posts)It's not really relevant to this thread, is it? Personally, I don't patronize Walmart. There's not one near me, while there is a Target near me. I don't like Target, either, but I shop there occasionally when it's the most convenient place to shop. For example, when I need a printer ink cartridge, it takes far less time for me to get it at Target than at another place, which is farther from my workplace.
I shop for my convenience and budget. Some people, for a wide range of reasons, shop at Walmart. Attempts to shame them for doing so are inappropriate in a thread that merely tells a story about something that happened at a Walmart store, I think.
If you want to discuss reasons not to shop at Walmart, you can start a thread on that subject and include your link. Sarcastic shaming of another DUer for going to Walmart accomplishes nothing. It borders on rudeness, in my opinion.

Wow. Saving 13¢ on a bag of birdseed is more critical to you than shopping at a store that has a shop blue track record. Go figure.
Really?

(11,686 posts)I also buy cat litter from there as it is the least expensive in my entire county and the county I am next to. I like the idea that what I do buy from them is getting shit on. I will admit that if I am hungry and going to wait for an hour for my mother on the benches in the entrance I will get food from the deli. I think it is better than fainting in Walmart. Oh, the other thing Walmart is good for is training your service dog. If your service dog can handle Walmart they can handle anything. My service dog loathed Walmart but it worked out well that he learned to deal with places he did not like. Other than that I despise Walmart. I worked for them and I have friends who worked for them and we all agree their human relations suck big time and are evil.

They'd be inviting trouble from some corner, if not the threat of a lawsuit.
