Hunsinger noted that "the original intent for Veterans Park," which is on a site donated by the hospital, was to honor "only veterans serving in the Uniformed Services of the United States of America" and "only those individuals from Manatee County would have their names memorialized on the walls, statues or memorials contained within Veterans Park" ...
The Veterans Council .. supports the notion of relocating the 8.5-ton monument to the states Gamble Plantation Historic Park in Ellenton.
The county has not approached the Florida Park Service as to whether it would accept the monument ...
