But this sounds reasonable to me..

Seems that Former CIA Head James Woolsey presented Mueller with enough Info to Indict Michael Flynn

The muslim cleric living in the Poconos in PA is Fethullah Gulen, and it was widely reported at the time of the uprising in Turkey that Erdogan blamed the failed coup on Gulen, demanding his extradition. It didn't take a secret mission to Turkey for Mike Flynn to learn about this--he could have listened to NPR.

And he wisely didn't want to be caught up in that. FBI already had all the information based on wiretaps etc., but I wouldn't be surprised if Woolsey contacted the FBI anyway, since failure to report a crime is itself a crime.
