But the guilty plea announced this morning is making me smile a big wide smile...
I am try to imagine all the ways this DOJ statement is burning holes in what passes for brains at the Orange House.
"Papadopoulos was arrested in July 2017 and pleaded guilty on Oct. 5. His plea agreement says the government will inform the sentencing judge of his "efforts to cooperate with the Government, on the condition that your client continues to respond and provide information regarding any and all matters as to which the Government deems relevant."
Ya know what?
The fish never notice that they are in a drift net until the fishermen start reeling it in.

So most of what I see from that platform is what is linked to here.
ETA- I accidently replied to my OP with this. So I self deleted and reposted as a reply to emulatoroo.

On Monday morning, shortly after special counsel Robert Mueller announced the indictments of former Trump campaign officials Paul Manafort and Rick Gates, President Donald Trump tweeted, There is NO COLLUSION! But soon after that, Muellers office released a statement of offense outlining one major instance of when the Trump campaign tried to collude with Russia as the Kremlin was mounting a covert operation against the 2016 election to benefit Trump.
This case involved George Papadopoulos, a foreign policy adviser for the Trump campaign, who has pleaded guilty to making false statements to agents investigating the Trump-Russia scandal.

Yeah, twitter. Not a member, never will be. But it is nice that one can read threads in a web browser as a non-member sometimes. Big fan of Abramson's reporting and legal analysis here.

Let's hope it's just the first couple pebbles of an avalanche

(13,188 posts)I am happy to see that the George P. guilty plea is getting a lot of posts here.
IMHO this is as big as the Manafort indictment and I was concerned it would be ignored. Glad it isn't.
I like to think of these two moves as the jaws on a nutcracker - a cooperating witness and indictments on conspiracy/money laundering charges that Trump has no excuse to pardon.
What can the nutcracker break loose?
