they want to.

Wouldn't it be something if non conservative thinking people all voted, there would be no republicans anymore.

Shouldnt say conservative thinking, most trumpers have no clue what conservatism is or for that matter "thinking."

During the election, there were people I knew (mostly from my high school) that forwarded some of those garbage stories and ads, mostly about liberals being paid $1500 to protest (ha! as if!!), but also a lot of nonsense about Benghazi and emails - you notice every time it would get quiet on anti-Hillary topics, something would quickly ramp it back up.

This was obviously less true with the anti-Trump stuff, first, much of it was from actual news sources, but once a topic started to fade, you didn't it being stoked back into full flame.

Another problem, besides stories that were dead being revived, was just the fact that most Hillary supporters pretty much didn't, outside of closed circles, dare raise their heads because the backlash was so intense. It wasn't worth it. Most of my pre-election Hillary talk was either in the Hillary group here, or within groups of (mostly) women friends. I just didn't want to take the heat, much as I dearly supported my candidate, and I regret that now. I wish I'd pushed back harder and been more prepared to counter.

It wasn't all on the right, either. I'm acquainted with a circle of people who also spew the talking points about Hillary being a warmonger and a "neoliberal", and not progressive, and yada yada yada, so that wasn't an avenue to discuss politics in, either.

While I don't think I am the type to fall for fake ads or have my views budged by Facebook memes, where I did react, much to my discredit, was to the barrage of attacks and talking points from both sides. I turned turtle.
