Brian Wice is the appellant lawyer who got DeLay's conviction thrown out because the Texas money laundering statute only applies to cash and not checks

As best I remember, he said, "If a criminal defense lawyer sees an indictment like that, he tells the client, 'We can't possibly go to trial on that case. You have to make a deal.'"
