They both used each other, it is who they are at their core. They have been able to skate through life being completely unethical and assholes. At some point you reach too high, expose your nuts, and get a swift jab into the boys.

I have absolutely no compassion for anyone of them, if they die in a fucking jail cell tough, all deserved.

7. According to one of the MSNBC talking heads, Manafort wanted very much

to lead the Trump campaign because of the leverage it would give him to be "made whole" through foreign deals (he was deeply in debt at the time). So Manafort intended to use Trump. Trump, for his part, uses everybody. Until some of Manafort's dodgy dealings became known and he was asked to resign, Trump almost certainly intended to capitalize on his sketchy foreign connections to get deals done outside the U.S., and have the money laundered as needed.

9. I think greed motivated both of them.

Though Trump is also motivated by his need to have winners and losers in anything he touches.

But reading about all the things Manafort bought - I think he's motivated by profit, and I think that's what he has in common with Putin. And they like being able to hide their money, so interfering in international politics fits into that.

13. Manafort's partner Roger Stone ran Trump's 2000 campaign. Manafort moved there in 2006.
