Anyone consider that Trump might try Putin tactics to handle the situation?

Critical witnesses and/or prosecutors might start having a string of lethal accidents thereby crippling the case against Trump.

You think, 'this would be crazy and it can't happen here'?

Trump being elected president was crazy and could never happen here.
I rest my case.

It's crossed my mind. A disconsolate witness committing "suicide". jalan48 Oct 2017 #2

I think it would be more to send a message. Keep quiet, go to prison and you will live. jalan48 Oct 2017 #7
That would certainly send a message. But the best way to keep a witness quiet is the Putin method. Irish_Dem Oct 2017 #18
With Republicans in control, not only get away, but it would be cheered. Kablooie Oct 2017 #11

Trump has never made his own way. Nobody would ever follow such an order from him.

Though if the assassin was caught and Trump were exposed, well, Republicans would blame Hillary so Trump would come out alright.

Peter W. Smith https://g.co/kgs/QycUgq

Smith died on May 14, 2017 in a Rochester, Minnesota hotel room. He had checked into the hotel, which is near the Mayo Clinic, the day after speaking to the Wall Street Journal.[13] Nine days later he was found with a bag over his head that was attached to a helium source. Medical records list Smith's cause of death as "asphyxiation due to displacement of oxygen in confined space with helium." Police discovered a suicide note by Smith that stated that "no foul play whatsoever" was involved in his death, and that he was in poor health and that his life insurance policy was expiring.[1][14]

If that's true, making someone go away may be possible. But of course, he would be the first suspect, so it would be risky. But Putin does this sort of thing well.

I don't really think murder is in his DNA. But if he has the connections, and he's cornered and scared...it's at least a possibility. IF there's evidence he did anything illegal; we haven't seen any direct evidence yet.

It would have to actually be Putin’s people, sent by Putin. He’s the only real mobster Trump is in tight with that might have the motivation to extend themselves like that.

Even then, it would have to be a last resort. Putin still has people killed — you can’t go more than a few months without reading about a new victim — but at this point it’s usually people that have embarrassed him, and usually after the fact. Putin sends warnings to the next people, but doesn’t really have to protect himself anymore.

So I’d think someone would need information capable of hurting Russia in some way. It would have to be bigger than what we’ve already seen, because apparently the US isn’t going to do shit about the election interference.
