Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsIs Sarah Huckabee Sanders At Risk Of Going To Jail?......
On practically a daily basis she lies from her podium in the WH to shield Trump. Could she wind up in jail for that? Or would she plead that she was just doing her job?
If she has any semblance of decency - she should probably resign from her job. I believe she has kids. If she is at risk of winding up in jail - she's not much of a mother if she continues lying for Trump.

(26,366 posts)No one seriously suggested Nixon's press secretary be charged with a crime for repeating the falsehoods
that the administration fed him.
But if she's part of meetings where "obstruction of justice" is being planned and she's participating in the planning
she could be at risk.

(1,923 posts)Government officials generally enjoy immunity from anything that stems from their official duties provided they did not violate Constitutional or statutory law. Realistically, the only way she could face charges is if she lied under oath or to investigators.

(9,670 posts)She could be called to testify. If she lies under oath, she would be guilty of perjury, and perhaps obstruction of justice.
Lying to the press corps in and of itself is not criminal. It's antithetical to the Constitution and everything we stand for, but unfortunately, that was the USA of the past. The new USA allows for 2 realities, regardless of verity.
