I dunno...our FRiends are reading the new tax bill and they don't seem to be happy

The GOP chose to raise taxes on millions of other Americans in order to “pay for” the cuts to corporations.

You are totally correct. This is a ryan chamber of commerce bill to raise individual taxes to pay for their donors tax cut. Brady is just a ryan dirtbag.

What this bill really does is transfer a portion of the current Federal tax burden from corporations to individuals and families.

The bill is bull spit! It rewards those who don’t pay taxes in the first place. Brady, a Texan takes good care of his folks. This bill will cripple home construction and cut jobs. There is no break for the middle class.

I don’t see how this pile of K Street garbage passes. I’ve got a feeling the beltway GOP is about to go 0 for 3.

Nothing is ever his fault, he never puts a foot wrong, he's perfect and he's unfairly persecuted by the powers that be. Like Jesus.

11. Susan Collins of Maine said she wouldn't vote for a tax bill that cuts the highest rate

But the gap between Sen. Collins' words and actions is sometimes rather sizable.

12. It doesn't cut the highest rate.

It raises the income level where that rate takes effect. Of course, this amounts to a huge tax cut for the top earners, but it will enable Collins to vote yes and say she kept her word.

She likes to posture as a moderate Republican right up until the roll call vote starts.

6. This is why I bristle when the pundits refer to Dotard as a "Populist"
Thu Nov 2, 2017, 01:59 PM

Yes he rode in on a wave of resentment for the status quo and government, but real populism is based broadly on economic fairness and a strong working/middle class, a chicken in every pot. Bernie was the closest to populism during the last election cycle.

Dotard managed to convince a lot of folks that are still hurting from W's recession that an articulate black man didn't understand their pain and looked down on them from his Harvard law degree. Mostly, they couldn't look past the size of their paychecks and the color of his skin.

They linked HRC to Obama and demanded their turn at the controls regardless of the obvious disconnect of voting for a NYC slum lord billionaire.

They voted for the exact type of person that has always exploited them, but still can recognize when the 1% is sticking it to them. Hopefully they will remember this when the midterms come around.

15. Yup, and this "anti establishment, drain the swamp" election was the perfect opportunity

To run someone like Sanders against Trump.
There was a rare crossover during this moment in history where a large segment of Americans were tired of any establishment sanctioned nominee. At least enough to be relevant. It was just who could deliver for them. Once Bernie was not a choice, many were duped into thinking that their only choice left was Donnie. They, and their votes, could have been useful idiots for us. Too late.

53 GOP reps come from high tax states. Ryan can only afford to lose 24 of them.

Good luck, pal.
