The former DNC chair seems eager to jump on the Bernie Sanders bandwagon, but her claims of ignorance about party favoritism toward Hillary Clinton dont add up.
For defeated politicians, the period after an election is for score-settling. For defeated political operatives, its about positioning for the next race. And if a juicy excerpt from Donna Braziles new book Hacks is an indication, the longtime Democratic operative and former interim chair of the Democratic National Party seems to think the future is Bernie Sanders.
Braziles piece, in Politico Magazine, is a fascinating document, though maybe not always for the reasons intended. It answers some questions about the 2016 race, including why Hillary Clintons campaign didnt move to depose DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz sooner, but also raises other questions about the management of the DNC, including Braziles own moves. And it shows Brazile tossing soil on the Clinton eras coffin.

This piece from The Atlantic is a more balanced piece than the politico story and well wroth reading in full.

(30,481 posts)It does seem to be accurate that Clinton saved the party. Huge plus and just another sign about how generous Clinton is and always has been. She understands the need for numbers.

(30,481 posts)The only place she has gained friends here is on the right, including those posing as progressives. Brazile has a career where she has overall done well for us. The timing of her money grab couldnt be worse considering what she decided to use as her roll-out. I guess I shouldnt make an absolute statement as I did. This is clearly on her.

(479 posts)Donna's history goes back to then. Walking away from Bill Clinton after a great record on the economy and relatively peaceful era was wrong then and history begins to repeat. REMEMBER!
