What kind of explosion does this look like?
A video surfaced on social media Thursday showing a fire at the base of Davie Poplar a 300-plus year-old tree that has become a landmark on the North Carolina campus.
The video, which was tweeted by Inside Carolinas John Bauman and reportedly filmed by North Carolina student Dawn Goodfriend, also shows an explosion as a man appears to try to put the fire out.
The Raleigh News & Observer reported shortly after the video was posted that one subject had been taken into custody and that the fire had been extinguished. The News & Observer also reported that one person suffered burns to his or her face and limbs from the explosion. The severity of the burns has not been disclosed.
Area police later tweeted that they were investigating a suspicious package in the area. Businesses in the area have been evacuated, according to the News & Observer.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. One person was in custody Thursday afternoon after authorities said a small device detonated at the Davie Poplar tree on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus.
Cameron Avenue is closed between South Columbia Street and Raleigh Street as crews investigate, the university said.
UNC police called Carrboro police following the incident to tell them to be on the lookout for a
suspicious vehicle. Police haven't confirmed if the two incidents are related.
