We're a smart bunch. A real master of political persuasion. Really, I'm surprised Democrats haven't won more elections with our great brain trusts!
The week huge indictments go down, a Trump campaign official pleads guilty and Mueller ramps up his investigation, what does one prominent Democrat do? She writes an article rekindling the primary wars and diverting a ton of attention back to that, allowing Pres. Trump political cover, for the time being, to deflect from his scandal-ridden presidency. Now the Democrats are on the defensive, again, and it's just so beautifully orchestrated, especially to contrast the current charges facing the Trump campaign, that you can't help think if it's a bit more than just a small coincidence!
Liberals, and Democrats, are a smart bunch with impeccable timing.
And we wonder WHY Trump won in 2016.
We'll never be able to take a step forward if we keep shooting ourselves in the foot.

(58,785 posts)supporter, and notably Sanders is not a Democrat. He's someone who imagines he can take over the Democratic Party if it breaks enough. I don't think the word stupid is appropriate for what she's done, and I doubt she's operating alone.
Given that the Democratic Party is the nation's only functional political organization and the nation's bulwark against growing fascism and nationalism on the right, how about the word evil, instead?
This attack, and that is what it is, might help lose Democrats the governor's office in Virginia. November 7. Then there's the little matter of the Russia investigation: Sanders benefits if the GOP wins. The tax bill: Sanders benefits if that passes.
Just note the timing of all this. Who does it enable and who does it hurt?

(28,287 posts)What's it going to take for us to put the self-destructive behavior behind us? Armed fighting in the streets against the sort of all-out fascist regime that trump and his followers clearly long for?
I am so fucking sick of this ruinous behavior which accomplishes nothing, other than further empowering the evil madman in the White House. To hell with you, Donna Brazile, and all your supporters.

(45,662 posts)Not everything is a conspiracy. It is possible for Dems to release books and for a Russian investigation to happen separately.
What I don't understand is how our internal party candidate selection process could possibly take attention off of assholes colluding with a foreign government against the united states. It shouldn't even be close. The Russian stuff is clearly worse to any sensible person.

Round one victory for GOP via Heritage, Limbaugh and Faux.

(22,971 posts)Why can't we be a party of both Hillary and Bernie? We are actually very, very close in ideals, values, and goals. The difference of opinion is in how to achieve them. We can legitimately disagree about that, but we shouldn't stab each other in the back over it. In the end, defeating the Repubs is far more important.
