He was doing his work as a student at the University of Washington for the school newspaper, The Daily, when I was there in the mid-1970's. He was spot on with his feel for things, lampooning Nixon and Ford. I'm sorry to see he got into this fracas, and was glad to see that he made an appropriate apology.
