Every Sunday, There's an Ad in the pile of other Ads

in the middle of my city's Sunday paper. It's an ad from a local farm supply store, Mills Fleet Farm. Invariably, one or two of the pages in the magazine-sized ad is for firearms. What firearms are offered on that page depends on the season. Right now, it's deer season, so high-powered hunting rifle's are featured. It's also turkey season, so there are some shotguns in there too, also more or less at sale prices. Guns for your kids, too. Scaled down versions of your favorites, along with bb guns and pellet pistols. Get 'em started early in gun culture. You know.

However, regardless of the hunting season, there are always ads for AR-15 style semi-auto rifles and semi-auto pistols. Every week. Apparently, it's always human hunting season. You can get a bargain AR-15-type rifle most weeks for about $500, or move up to a fancier, more lethal-looking one for somewhere under $2000. Semi-auto pistols come in a range of prices, as well, but none are cheap, by any means. All are guaranteed to be lethal, though.

The store also sells ammo, of course. There's always a sale going on for .223 ammo for those AR-15 clones, along with 9mm and .45 caliber pistol rounds for those semi-auto pistols. You'll find magazines for your favorite weapons, too, of course, in all capacities. They're on sale, too. Lots of accessories, too, to make your gun of choice look more dangerous and deadly.

Farm supply store. Stop in this weekend and pick up some horse tack, a pair of jeans and those new boots you've been eying. Get some new tires for your pick-em-up truck, and don't forget to stop by the gun counter. A farmer can never have enough firearms, you see. But, they'll sell 'em to anyone who walks through the door, of course, so get yours now, and SAVE!
