Fake news aka false witnesses (think Jeebus)
Every Xian knows the story that two false witnesses were brought forth at Jesus’ trial to convict him.
When tRump or Roy Moore uses the phrase fake news, they are wrapping themselves in Jesus’ mantle, assuming the position of the victim who is innocent, and who is being falsely accused by false witnesses.
Xians are taught to believe they are victims of the evil world, so they identify with other self-professed Xians who aver they, too, are victims.
Which is why tRump easily carried the evangelical vote, even after pussygate. Which is why Roy Moore will not lose a single vote among evangelicals in Alabama. They believe anything bad said about a fellow evangelical Xian is simply a lie.
Now, if Roy Moore was an actor, things would be different.
