Ana Navarro says Schumer wants Roy Moore to win

On CNN with Don Lemon she made the case that a win by Moore would link Republicans to child sex molestation and for that reason Schumer and some other Dems now want Moore to win the Senate race.

She was arguing that a Moore victory will hurt Republicans more than the Dem taking that senate seat. I guess she says this Senate race is going to be a win for us either way.

We are not going to convert their 40%, and they can’t touch our 40%. The fight is for the 20% who may, given certain candidates and issues, vote for one party or the other.

All the crazy fundies are already in their 40%, but a guy like Moore would make the independent voters sick to their stomach when they see ‘Sen’ before his name and ‘R’ after it.

If David Vitter, Larry Craig, Mark Foley and Mark Sanford didn't give us a big enough edge, I doubt Roy Moore will be much benefit.

I don't want the evilgelicals to get to gloat about getting Rabid Roy, their Jesus boy, back in power of any kind.

if he won and there was an investigation that threw him out, the seat would be replaced with another republican. It is a no win situation for the Democrats except the fact he should be kept out of the Senate.

She barely knows what she thinks, let alone figuring out what people she only knows as caricatures and sketches think. Doug Jones is an excellent candidate and will make a fine Senator. Roy Moore is another cookie-cutter reactionary who despises government and doesn't know how it works. Alabama can do itself a tremendous favor and elect Doug Jones.

1. Moore could win.
2. Voters don't care about his past.
3. Moore could become a force in the Senate.
4. Moore could become a leader in the party.
5. Moore could become the model for challengers in republican primaries.
6. Moore could get nominated to be president.

Be careful what you wish for.

Yep. If enough people vote for him to win, it shows most people don't care about him allegedly hitting on teenage girls for sex. I am sure Schumer understands this, as well. I'm not buying that he is rooting for Moore to win.

You don't give Moore six years of free power and incumbency in the senate and hope people remember to vote him out when his term is up... Schumer forgets people have VERY short memories...

Besides, I thought Trump once and for all killed that bullshit notion that extremist GOP loons getting elected was a GOOD thing for Dems??

Nov 2017

The National Senatorial Election Committee, the group in charge of electing Republican senators has severed ties to Moore. That is consistent with the view Moore will hurt Republicans more than he's worth. And Doug Hye a former Republican aide in the House and Senate told NBC news that Moore is more trouble than a senate seat is worth.

I still can't root for Moore to win though. Maybe my emotions are distorting my judgment.

The difference is we have 48 or 49 Senators until January 2019. The Republicans have had trouble not losing 3 and failing to get 50 percent. One more Senator does not sound like much, but it makes a big difference. We need to win 2, not 3.
