Non-Democrats overnight *TRIED* go after Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.). https://www.thedailybeast.com/a-twitter-account-with-two-fake-ids-accused-a-democrat-of-assault-then-pro-trump-sites-ran-with-it
Three days ago, it was Al Franken in the cross-hairs.
There was a pause, and before Franken, it was Anthony Weiner, a very vociferous House Member.
Before Weiner, it was Don Siegelman in Alabama.
Before Siegelman, it was good ole standby: Bill Clinton.
And don't kid yourselves. Republicans would have used whatever was available (if anything ever existed) against Elizabeth Warren and/or Bernie Sanders.

(58,785 posts)While he continues to lead rule-or-ruin DFA-type "Progressives" in attacks on the central power structure of the Democratic Party, what's in it for the GOP, the kochtopus, or the Russians to take him down?
Sanders and his followers have also even actively worked to keep Democrats from being elected. So of course they'll leave him alone. If he ever threatened their agendas, then they'd strike.
Warren's a very different matter. Remember their ferocious attacks on her, threatening all-out war, when Hillary was considering her for VP? They were fine with Sanders.

(1,387 posts)No big suprise there. The Moore scandal may have pointed the way for the form these attacks take, but it's more of a subterfuge. The attackers want to silence the voices of the most effective dem inquisitors.
