I now hate "Bull Durham"

One of my most favorite sports movies of all time. Sarandon has ruined it for me.

As well as Thelma & Louise and Rocky Horror. But especially Bull Durham.

So, as well as all the horrible political things she has said and done, she's also ruined some of my nice memories.

Fuck her.

Her voice alone pisses me off. Now I don't know that it would prevent me from buying Tylenol. I have wondered about that, though. Lol. I really can't stand her. I buy generics most of the time anyway and usually only ibuprofen.

impact my ability to enjoy their work. I just try to remember that these people are usually not very bright and are good at one thing; acting. They're trained seals performing for my pleasure. I honestly expect most of them have entirely idiotic ideas about basically everything.

affect how much I like their work. I love all three movies and I think Sarandon is an idiot, but I don't think those two positions are really in conflict. I love The Year of Living Dangerously, Gallipoli and all of the Mad Max movies, and I think Mel Gibson is a lunatic. Richard Wagner was a terrible person and I love Parsifal. Caravaggio was a violent murderer and one of the great artists of his time. The Renaissance composer Gesualdo murdered his wife and was mad as a box of frogs and I love his music. Knowing the artists were bad in some way doesn't lessen my appreciation of their art.

Bill Cosby was funny as a stand-up comic but I thought the sitcom was stupid, so I don't have to think about that at all.

I liked Sarandon's movies before I knew she was a nutball politically. If I had never found that out, I would still like the movies. But the movies haven't changed at all since I learned that Sarandon is a loon. So why should I stop liking them now that I know?

I only saw some of her movies while channel surfing. The one I liked was one where Tommy Lee Jones starred as a prosecutor (sorry, I can't remember the name of it) but that is because I'm a Huge TLJ fan.

So I won't miss much by not seeing a movie starring her ever again...she is vomit-inducing to me, so it's not worth the effort

Also, you list people whose political views happen to have come to your attention. Do you actively vet each actor in a production before watching it? If you don't, you could unwittingly be watching someone with whom you disagree about something.

For my part, I'm with the people in this thread for whom this is just a non-factor.
