The Post did not publish an article based on her unsubstantiated account. When Post reporters confronted her with inconsistencies in her story and an Internet posting that raised doubts about her motivations, she insisted that she was not working with any organization that targets journalists.
But on Monday morning, Post reporters saw her walking into the New York offices of Project Veritas, an organization that targets the mainstream news media and left-leaning groups. The organization sets up undercover stings that involve using false cover stories and covert video recordings meant to expose what the group says is media bias.
James OKeefe, the founder of Project Veritas who was convicted of a misdemeanor in 2010 for using a fake identity to enter a federal building during a previous sting, declined to answer questions about the woman outside the Project Veritas office, a storefront in Mamaroneck, N.Y., on Monday morning shortly after the woman walked inside.

(82,849 posts)THAT right there, boys and girls, is a NEWS story!
Not to mention a tacit admission of guilt that yet another bungling attempt to derail the truth has itself jumped the tracks. Can someone explain to me, again, why any media outlet gives this lying little shit the time of day?

(7,233 posts)Lusby, Maryland (CNN) -- A conservative activist known for making undercover videos plotted to embarrass a CNN correspondent by recording a meeting on hidden cameras aboard a floating "palace of pleasure" and making sexually suggestive comments, e-mails and a planning document show.
James O'Keefe, best known for hitting the community organizing group ACORN with an undercover video sting, hoped to get CNN Investigative Correspondent Abbie Boudreau onto a boat filled with sexually explicit props and then record the session, those documents show.
The plan apparently was thwarted after Boudreau was warned minutes before it was supposed to happen.
"I never intended to become part of the story," Boudreau said. "But things suddenly took a very strange turn."

Conservative provocateur James O'Keefe hasn't done much worth crowing about since he took down ACORN with misleadingly edited secret videotapes. He was feted as a right-wing celebrity. He got arrested for trying to sneak into a senator's office under false pretenses. And then he had his attempted prank of a CNN reporter backfire when the reporter backed out after discovering that he planned to lure her onto a boat and "seduce" her. O'Keefe has responded, finally, to this last embarrassment. Unsurprisingly, he has no regrets, and the liberal media is the real guilty party.
O'Keefe's defense -- posted, of course, on Andrew Breitbart's "Big Government" -- rests on us believing that the prank-outlining document obtained by CNN was a draft that O'Keefe did not plan on actually following. He says ideas for stunts are sent to him all the time (like a fancy Hollywood producer!) and sometimes he approves of the idea behind a prank without endorsing everything about it.

It's a right-wing rabble-rouser showdown! Jazz-handed pimp impersonator James O'Keefe is at "#WAR" with a former Project Veritas colleague who is now blogging an O'Keefe tell-all involving stolen panties, drugged beers, a "rape barn," "taped intimate moments," a $20K pay-off, and barbs about "black welfare queens." James O'Keefe has graduated from creepy seductions to a full-blown sex scandal.
Harvard grad student Nadia Naffe recently filed a criminal harassment complaint against James. Citing insufficient evidence, a judge dismissed the case. Now Nadia is on a scorched earth cyber rampage. "If he wants a fight, bring it on. This is #WAR," she tweeted last night, after retweeting outraged utterances from an unofficial Rubio4President account about James' "rape barn." On her personal blog, she is currently on part two of a sprawling anti-O'Keefe opus.
Nadia says she worked with James on his painful "To Catch a Journalist" series, during which he made racially charged romantic overtures. Weeks later, she agreed to stay in a "renovated barn" on his parents' property while working on another project. She then republishes a 1500-word email she apparently sent to James and the Project Veritas board after the rape barn weekend:
...
After Nadia sent the rape barn email, she says James published a response on Project Veritas' website, then deleted it. Nadia writes that it contained images of documents from James' legal battle with Isabel Santa, the former Project Veritas member who warned CNN reporter Abbie Boudreau about James' plan to trap and sexually humiliate her on a "love boat." Apparently Project Veritas fired Isabel after the ordeal; her lawyer argued that this treatment could qualify as "wrongful termination, negligent misrepresentation, fraud, harassment, negligence, conspiracy and detrimental reliance," and ended up with a $20,000 settlement.

The lie from the Project Veritas crew was such a blatant attempt at deception, that the Washington Post has decided to both report what were considered off the record comments and the name of the person involved.
After [Jaime T. Phillips] was seen entering the Project Veritas office, The Post made the unusual decision to report her previous off-the-record comments.
Congratulations, Jaime T. Phillips. The lie didnt work, but that wont stop Fox from finding some way to report this like youre a hero and pull out a contributor chair.

(13,081 posts)The first one turned out to be a right wing radio show person and lied about what happened.
The second one turned out to be a Trump voter.
Both of them coordinated their stories with the self-proclaimed king of dirty tricks, Roger Stone, and Sean Hannity.
The third and fourth accusers approached a reporter at a blogging site (unlike Moores accusers, whom the WaPo sought out). He then published their allegations uncritically and with no corroboration.
The WaPo demonstrates how an actual news organization deals with these things, with both this person and Moores accusers. Due diligence.
Youd have to be absolutely crazy not to be deeply suspicious of Frankens anonymous accusers.

(21,563 posts)First off... Project Veritas should be STRIPPED of its tax exempt status. They are not a charity.
Second: These people are SCUM. They are out there hoping to find an overzealous reporter willing to say they want moore out too so they can "prove" that the media supports "the left". All so they can support the candidacy of a child abuser. These people are the lowest of the low. DISGUSTING

The great gotcha so far is that in hidden-camera footage in the office, a Post reporter explains the difference between the paper's news function and its editorial opinion one.
The replies on those tweets are full of people ripping O'Keefe for thinking he has some sort of scoop rather than providing evidence of the distinction between news and opinion, and asking him pointed questions about his tax return and sources of funding.
Meanwhile, Project Veritas is all excited because it's currently trending:
