Vote down that tax bill. If there are any GOP who love country more than self and party they need to stop out and vote against passage of this draconian tax bill which will set back the Trump/Bannon/Russian machine. Failure of this bill to pass will seriously damage the Trump machine right now. GOP who are serious about making good tax reform can always come back and pass something more reasonable and sound AFTER Trump goes own in flames. But if this bill is passed in its present form, not only will working men and women be harmed, but it will seal in the racist, sexist, lying, ignorant Trump machine for the next two decades, including their court appointments. There must be at least three or four GOP Senators who realize this and who really care about America? Am I wrong?

(53,257 posts)Just heard Dear Leader bragging about home sales, the stock market and the wonderful economy. If things are going so well, we don't need any tax cuts. This isn't 2009.

(21,836 posts)Trump is just giving himself a fucking tax cut (if he ever decides to pay them again) and they say "duh, ok"

(25 posts)If passed, it will impose greater taxes on the least among us. It will grant token and short lived tax cuts for the declining numbers of us in the middle class. To pay for it, services and benefits we have all earned as taxpaying members of this society will be cut. Make no mistake, this very partisan attempt to shift billions of our tax dollars to the very wealthiest among us will devastate everything from Social Security to the tax revenues individual municipalities use to pay employees. All of this to give welfare to the wealthiest. Who to call?
Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME): (202) 224-2523 www.collins.senate.gov/contact
is reported to be on the fence because of the provisions to destroy the ACA by removing the Individual Mandate. She also believes it to be fiscally irresponsible.
Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.): ((202) 224-4521 www.flake.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contact-jeff would like to see tax reform. He, too, sees this effort as fiscally irresponsible.
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz): ((202) 224-2235 www.mccain.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contact-form In addition to believing the efforts to be irresponsible, McCain also believes in bi-partisanship and regular order. So far, no hearings have taken place to expose the hyper-partisanship behind this bill. If the Senate could pass this in deep secrecy, it would please the hierarchy.
Sen. Murkowski ((202) 224-6665, www.murkowski.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contact is an enigma. She is OK with doing in the Individual Mandate, damn the consequences. But she is also fiscally conservative. She could be persuaded that it is deficit busting and will harm her state.
Sen. Corker (202) 224-3344 www.corker.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/emailme and Sen. Lankford (202) 224-5754 www.lankford.senate.gov/contact/email
are Deficit Hawks. They deeply believe in tax reform which will produce trickle down benefits. On the other hand they view the Senate bill as adding to the deficit.
Congress is under enormous pressure to get something done. Wealthy donors have told them the piggy banks are closed until they make these bills law. Lets add to the pressure. We are many, they are few. Let them know what you will lose.
