If there was a more affable, likable President who lied as much as Trump....

Actually there was, he was named Ronald Reagan.

Every Republican President in my lifetime has been a disaster.

Trump is simply the worse in a steadily declining curve.

rEagan started the decline of America by opening the door for racism, class warfare, & corporate takeover of our government. tRump along with the republican party finishing what rEagan started.

Nixon was paranoid, used the government to retaliate against his "enemies" (read: people who didn't kiss his ass), and was involved in the Watergate burglary that gave rise to the -gate suffix to name scandals thereafter.

What makes Donnie Moscow worse is that he allegedly coordinated with a hostile foreign power to get him installed, going as far as to disgrace and betray the country.

He warned us of the military industrial complex, and, this excerpt from a letter to his brother Edgar:

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance, and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires, and an occasional politician or business man from other areas.5 Their number is negligible and they are stupid."

But from the same letter he added this:

"A year ago last January we were in imminent danger of losing Iran, and sixty percent of the known oil reserves of the world.7 You may have forgotten this. Lots of people have. But there has been no greater threat that has in recent years overhung the free world. That threat has been largely, if not totally, removed. I could name at least a half dozen other spots of the same character."

The US and Britain overthrew Mossadegh and installed the Shah of Iran. Truman, his Democratic predecessor opposed the coup.

At least Eisenhower's election was legitimate, the last repub president we can say that about.
