He hasn't looked particularly healthy for a while.

I've met the congressman, on several occasions during and after the Kerry campaign, and had some long and very pleasant conversations with him. He can be a very engaging individual. I admit I found it very flattering that he was asking my opinion on issues, and listening to what I was saying. I remember him telling me about the 'cells' in the basement of the Capital Building, and I told him I'd be cheering him on when he escorted Bush and Cheney into those cells. He laughed at called me a 'real radical'. Being called a radical by John Conyers? I still get a kick out of that.

I definitely fall into the disappointed but not particularly surprised category, concerning these allegations.

I'm with you the same category. I'm sad and disappointed. I was always a big fan of John Conyers.
