People along the route see where the bus is headed and they scream and wave their arms to try to flag down the bus. The driver, who strangely resembles a turtle, just blinks and bobs his head and proceeds towards the cliff.
Eventually, crowds of people swarm into the road to block the bus and avert the impending disaster. And, the bus stops and the driver exits. At the insistence of the onlookers, he walks ahead with them and they show him that his course will lead him and his bus and all those people over the cliff. He actually walks to the edge and peers into the abyss. He bobs his head and nods to the crowd. Confident that they have saved the bus from a plunge into sure destruction, the crowd disperses as the driver shuffles back to the bus.
When he reaches his vehicle, the driver starts it, engages the transmission and literally peels out---directly toward the precipice that now everyone understands lies just ahead. And, helpless, they watch as the bus accelerates.
This is where we're at with the catastrophe taking place in the Senate. "Both parties are the same" my ass!

(23,953 posts)turtle and all those other dillweeds who insist on the bus going over the cliff have it rigged so that
(a) they won't be hurt in the crash, and
(b) many of those nice people who pointed out the cliff to the turtle get dragged along with the bus over the cliff
