Amber Alert issued in Solon, Iowa, after 9-year-old's disappearance (canceled she is safe)

Authorities issued an Amber Alert on Saturday following the reported disappearance of a child in Iowa.

The alert was issued from Solon, Iowa, about 3:30 p.m. regarding Brianna Christine Elise Crane, 9.

The child is described as white, 4 feet tall and 85 lbs, with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is hearing impaired and was last seen wearing blue jeans and black high tops.

Brianna was believed to have last been seen with a white male, 48, with blond hair and blue eyes, according to the alert. He is 6 feet tall and 210 lbs.

For those who don't know, Solon is a farming community between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids in eastern Iowa
oh do I hope she is alright. I can't imagine what her parents are going through. I so hope the little girl is ok.

I wonder why.

In one way or another, there's much more to this story than a simple kidnapping. It could have been revenge or a perceived rescue. It's certainly easier to abduct a nine year old when she trusts.

I just hope she's safe.

An Amber Alert was issued around 3:30 p.m. Saturday for a 9-year-old girl from Solon.

Police said Brianna Christine Elise Crane was abducted by her stepfather around 1 p.m. Saturday. Crane is described as being 4 feet tall, weighing 85 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities said her suspected abductor is 48-year-old Kenneth Eugene Johns, and he may have been driving a gray 2014 Ford Focus.
