GOP dream candidate Condi Rice says no thanks to U.S. Senate bid

Source: LA Times

Condoleezza Rice — Stanford professor, Soviet specialist, former U.S secretary of state — once said her dream job was commissioner of the National Football League. So she knows a Hail Mary pass when she sees one.

Stick with that metaphor, for a moment, and consider the California Republican Party. The GOP is down by six touchdowns and mired, as it has been for years, on its own 10-yard line. Suddenly, opportunity!

.......

For years, she has tantalized Republicans, dazzled by her resume, her political star power and, not least, the fact that, as a black woman, she might broaden the GOP's appeal to a universe of voters — women and minorities — who have been key to Democrats' growing political dominance across the state.

If only.

...although I wonder what her answer would be when asked how the National Security advisor missed the "hair-on-fire" warnings before 9/11? I'm sure it would be along the lines of "no one could've imagined that planes could be used as missiles..."

Yeah Condi, EXCEPT the US Navy in 1945...

Because she knew the 911 warnings. She claimed they couldn't conceive of such a situation but she lied. In 2000, CNN had a report that the State Dept had anti-aircraft artillery placed all around the island of Genoa for the G8 Summit because they feared airliners being used as kamikaze weapons. She is a filthy traitor and Democrats were derelict letting these criminals get away with allowing 911 to happen. Bush Sr and Cheney probably told Condi she cannot run for the Senate because it would reopen unanswered questions.

The notion that no one could imagine such a thing is just BS. It was documented way before the event. Besides the real issue is they didn't take it seriously.

Remember Darrell Issa engineered the recall of Gov. Gray Davis, only to be cock-blocked on the GOP ticket by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The Democratic party didn't have a candidate other than the sitting Governor Davis when the recall was approved.

Davis vs Schwarzenegger wasn't really Dem vs GOP. It was Dem vs superstar.

She will be exposed as a lesbian. I know a prominent Stanford graduate/donor/insider who said it's an open secret that she has a longtime girlfriend who is a women's coach at Stanford.

Not that there is anything wrong with that but in this Anti gay gop world this would make their heads explode if this became known to the base. That said I would respect her if she came out.

No way she can run for anything with a public face. She can only get sinecures going forward from the dark forces behind the scenes like Board of director type operations.

I suspect the NFL wanted her to help quiet the abuse scandal, but when google Condi, it comes back torturer, they knew that wouldn't fly.

Or her every bobble of head.

Ever notice that when her lips say "no", her head frequently nods "yes." And when her lips say "yes", her head frequently shakes "no." She's the most addle-brained, idiotic, shaky-voiced, trembling, skittish, Nervous-Nellie individual I've ever seen sit in front of a microphone. When she talks, I swear, sometimes it sounds to me like she's being goosed from behind.

I do NOT see the appeal. OR the purported brains. Her hairstyle always shows a lot of forehead. Maybe that's why people on that side of the aisle think she's smart. I sure don't. That's the best they've got out here? Their brightest hope? DAYUM, they're in worse shape than I thought. She's pathetic.

She'd probably lose by less than Schwarzenegger or Issa or Michael Huffington. I don't know enough about California politics to fill in the names of people who have a realistic chance of ending up as the nominee, but it's plausible that the real candidate will lose by even more than Rice would have.

which is a political career opens her up to scandals & similar type of stuff when she has a prestigious scandal-free job but right after I thought that, I realized how easily someone can backdoor bribe a member of the selection committee, if she is well paid it is less unlikely something like that would entice her (given the risks involved) which is why point shaving is nonexistent in the pro leagues.
