Climate change threatens human health and well-being in many ways. The draft report, The Impacts of Climate Change on Human Health in the United States: A Scientific Assessment (available to download below), was developed by USGCRPs Interagency Group on Climate Change and Human Health as part of the sustained National Climate Assessment and as called for under the Presidents Climate Action Plan. This assessment report is intended to present a comprehensive, evidence-based, and, where possible, quantitative estimation of observed and projected public health impacts related to climate change in the United States. Once finalized (expected early 2016), the report will provide needed context for understanding Americans changing health risks.
Public comments on the draft assessment report are now being solicited (view the Federal Register Notice). In addition, the draft report is being submitted concurrently to the National Academy of Sciences for rigorous peer review. For more information on the process of developing and reviewing the report, please see the final prospectus.
The public comment period is open until 12 pm ET on June 8, 2015. If you simply wish to view the draft, please download the chapters or full report below. If you wish to comment on the draft, you will need to access the Review & Comment System, register with your name and email address, and agree to the terms. The system will be available starting at 12 pm ET on April 7. All public comments must be submitted through the Review & Comment System in order to be considered.
