Release of Benghazi Report on Hillary Clinton Likely Pushed to Election Season
Source: Bloomberg
The findings of a Republican-led committee investigating Hillary Clintons response to the deadly 2012 attack in Benghazi, Libya, likely will not be released until next year, just months before the 2016 presidential election.
Representative Trey Gowdy of South Carolina, chairman of the U.S. House Select Committee on Benghazi, has been emphasizing a desire for the panel to finish investigative work by the end of 2015, including its review of Clintons e-mail practices as secretary of state. Now that seems less likely.
In a statement on Tuesday to Bloomberg News, committee spokesman Jamal Ware confirmed the delay. Factors beyond the committees control, including witness availability, compliance with documents requests, the granting of security clearances and accreditationsall of which are controlled by the Executive branchcould continue to impact the timing of the inquirys conclusion, Ware wrote.
Even if the investigation phase could be concluded by the end of 2015, he said in an interview, the committee would need more time to analyze the information collected, and compile findings and conclusions into a written report. No specific date for release in 2016 of the committees final report was offered by Ware.

(1,937 posts)The public will find out how much time and money was wasted on the Benghazi issue. Probably more investigation time and hearing than 911.
How much time and investigation went into the 240+ Marines that died in Lebanon?
How many times has the GOP stalled or turned down legislation that would have improved security at embassies and consulates?
Why was a British firm hired to protect the consulate? and where were they?
I think four lives are too many. How many lives were lost in the middle east due to the GOP lies?
Why did we arm Bin Laden? The enemy of your enemy is not always your friend.
Where is the outrage on these questions that not only wasted American lives, but also billions of American dollars?
I can answer that one. Faux and Limpbough have ignored these questions as it does not fit their fairy tale they call news!!!

(10,056 posts)There is no Benghazi 'scandal' unless you are talking about the GOP cuts to embassy security over the last 10 years.
What a bunch of douche bags.
