Moose stabbed to death in Alaska park; suspects in custody

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Three men are in custody in Alaska's largest city after a young moose was stabbed to death at a popular local park.
Anchorage police say 25-year-old Johnathan Candelario, 28-year-old James Galloway and 33-year-old Nick Johnston are under arrest in connection with the death of the yearling moose Tuesday night near a bike trail in Russian Jack Springs Park.
The men were arrested on charges of animal cruelty, wanton waste of big game and tampering with evidence. It's unclear if they have attorneys.
Police say several witnesses called shortly before 7:30 p.m. reporting that the three men were jumping on the animal, kicking it and stabbing it with a large knife.

Candelario, Galloway and Johnston each face one felony count of cruelty to animals, as well as one misdemeanor count each of wanton waste of big game and tampering with evidence. They were arrested and held at the Anchorage Jail.
Anchorage police say officers have taken three men into custody after a witness saw the trio stab a moose to death on a bike trail Tuesday in Russian Jack Springs Park.
"We were dispatched to a citizen calling in noticing three males walking around harassing a moose, taunting it and then they witnessed these males striking the moose, jumping on the moose and possibly striking or stabbing the moose ," said Sgt. Jennifer Haywood with APD.

These creations, killed one of the most beautiful animals on this planet, which was minding its own business and then these three creations took it upon themselves to be judge, jury, and executor.

"This section comprises Alaska's anti-cruelty and animal fighting laws, which were amended in 2010. A person commits cruelty to animals if the person: knowingly inflicts severe and prolonged physical pain or suffering on an animal; with criminal negligence, fails to care for an animal and, as a result, causes the death of the animal or causes severe physical pain or prolonged suffering to the animal; kills or injures an animal by the use of a decompression chamber; intentionally kills or injures a pet or livestock by the use of poison; knowingly kills or injures an animal with the intent to intimidate, threaten, or terrorize another person; or knowingly engages in sexual conduct with an animal, films such activity, induces such activity, or intentionally permits this to occur on premises under the person's control. The court may also prohibit or limit the defendant's ownership, possession, or custody of animals for up to 10 years for convictions under this section."
I thinks it's time for a letter campaign against these creations, to pay the full price under the criminal penal system up there in "you betcha land ", like jail time a lot of it ..............
